Your Autónomo Plan, Your Way

Autónomo Registration is a one-time fee of €40 + IVA. Your gestor registers you with Hacienda and Seguridad Social so you can invoice legally as an autónomo. Once you're registered, you'll have quarterly tax filings to keep on top of - that's what Autónomo Accounting covers (€29/month + IVA). It's a separate subscription, and for most autónomos it's the natural next step, so you can add it whenever you're ready.

You can begin registering as an autónomo up to 60 days before your planned start date, so the timeline is largely in your hands - the earlier you start, the more breathing room you have. Once you've chosen a gestor and given them your documents, they file your registration with Hacienda (Modelo 036/037) and your alta with Seguridad Social. Submitted online, these go through quickly; the main thing that affects timing is having your documents and digital certificate ready, so getting those to your gestor early keeps everything moving.

For €29/month + IVA, your gestor handles your ongoing tax filings - your quarterly IVA and income tax returns (Modelo 303 and Modelo 130), and your annual declarations (Modelo 390, 347 and 720, where applicable) - along with your bookkeeping and standard tax advice. It also includes 10 documents per month (any combination of invoices and expenses), direct in-platform messaging with your gestor, and Hola Finance, our free invoicing and expense management app. Your annual Renta return isn't part of this - it's a separate, per-filing service.

Your subscription includes 10 documents each month, in any combination of invoices and expenses. If you need more, you can add extra packs of 15 documents for €5/month + IVA per pack, so your plan scales with your needs.

Possibly - if you have assets outside Spain, like foreign bank accounts, property or investments, they may need declaring to Hacienda each year through Modelo 720 once they pass a certain value. It's easy to overlook when you're settling into a new country, which is exactly why it helps to have a gestor: they can tell you whether it applies to you, and if it does, they handle it as part of your Autónomo Accounting subscription, at no extra cost.

The Renta (Modelo 100) is Spain's annual income tax return - once a year, it brings your whole year's income together and reconciles the tax you've already paid against what you owe overall. The season runs from April to June.

It's kept separate from the Autónomo Accounting subscription because the work varies from one return to the next. It's priced per filing, from €59 + IVA. Your gestor prepares and files it for you when the season opens.
